The SXSW Interactive Innovation Awards celebrates the incredible speakers, trends, innovations, and ideas that are brought to Austin each year. In addition to the Awards ceremony, this year's finalists will have the opportunity to exhibit and demo their work at the [Interactive Innovation Awards Finalist Showcase](https://www.sxsw.com/apply-to-participate/interactive-innovation-awards/) on Sunday, March 12 from 11 a.m.-5 p.m. CDT at the Hilton Austin Downtown (Salons C, D, and E, 4th Floor). The Finalist Showcase offers SXSW Interactive, Music, Film, and Platinum badgeholders a first look at the most exciting tech developments in 2017, plus a chance to place their votes for the People's Choice Award. Registered media and official Awards jurists will have exclusive access to the Showcase and finalist demos that morning, from 10-11 a.m. CDT. Of hundreds of applications submitted, Cota™ Tile was one of four finalist spots given within the Smart Cities category by a panel of judges comprised of industry peers and experts. Each entry was graded on four criteria: creativity, form, function and overall experience. The Finalist Showcase provides an in-person experience for the judges to complete their second round of voting to determine the winner of all 13 categories. "Cota Tile is the first device that makes power as convenient, safe and invisible as wireless internet," said Hatem Zeine, Chief Technology Officer at Ossia and inventor of the Cota technology. "It can transform the way we power homes, coffee shops, hospitals and many other spaces and devices. We believe Cota will be a key technology for Smart Cities, and we're proud that the SXSW judges have recognized its potential." Cota™ Tile delivers real wireless power without plugs, wires or charging pads. The device looks exactly like the standard ceiling tile and it is built to be installed in a drop ceiling. However, each Cota™ Tile contains smart antennas that can charge dozens of Cota-enabled devices simultaneously, even as they move around a room. Several Cota Tiles can be linked together to achieve a several meter charging radius. Cota™ Tile is proven to be safe around people, pets and plants, and it does not interfere with Wi-Fi or other wireless technologies.  The Cota™ Tile is one representation of a power transmitter that would send power to a Cota™ enabled receiver chip. Any number of Cota™ receivers can be managed from the Cota Cloud to set priority and other customization options. The Cota™ receiver chips are designed to be built into smartphones, standard-size AA batteries, and other IoT and wearable devices.
