(www.ossia.com), the company behind the Cota® real wireless power technology, announced that Gaston Zenden recently joined the executive team as Chief Operating Officer and that Bob Giometti has been hired as Vice President of Engineering. The two executives bring a combined 40 years of experience to Ossia.
With 20 years of telecom industry experience and a deep belief in the power of personalized mobile solutions, Zenden will focus on optimizing the company's operations, bringing additional professional rigor to programs and processes to improve efficiency, increase customer engagement and refine Ossia's development roadmap. Prior to joining Ossia, Zenden served as Head of Network Services at Ericsson, leading a team of approximately 500 professionals and managing relationships with major partners.
Zenden's prior roles with Ericsson included assignments in the Netherlands, Germany, Singapore and the U.S., where he led the successful, on-time deployment of T-Mobile USA's 3G and 4G networks. He previously served as Managed Service COO with Clearwire, Inc., where he transitioned a team of 750 professionals to Ericsson and oversaw network design, optimization, deployment and operations. Zenden holds a master of science degree in industrial engineering and management sciences from the Technical University of Eindhoven in the Netherlands.
Giometti also brings extensive wireless technology experience to his new role as VP of Engineering at Ossia, where he will direct the engineering team as the company takes its unique Cota technology to the next level and enables Ossia's customers to deliver best-in-class wireless power solutions. Prior to joining Ossia, Giometti served as VP of Engineering at NuCurrent, where he led development of wireless power solutions. He also held significant leadership roles at Dynamics and SkyCross.
Giometti began his focus on wireless technology at Motorola, where he led the electrical design team that developed the RAZR mobile phone and directed numerous other major projects and programs. A holder of several patents, Giometti earned his bachelor of science and master of science degrees in electrical engineering from the Illinois Institute of Technology. He is also a Six Sigma Green Belt and has served as a speaker at technical conferences in addition to publishing articles on wireless technology.
